Board book:
This book describes, as it has never been done before, naval aviation operations that took place in the Baltic Sea during the two world wars, using previously unpublished documents from archives in Germany and Britain. In 1914 the Marine
Kaiserliche lined up a small fleet in the Baltic, supported if necessary by dell'Hochseeflotte units deployed in the North Sea. The Russian fleet maintained a largely defensive stance. The major naval battles took place in the Gulf of Riga British submarines, which are sent in the Baltic at the request of Moscow, caused major losses to the German fleet. In the book describes the tasks performed by the Royal Navy to support forces, usually referred to as "White", who fought against the Bolshevik regime during the civil war (1918-21). When
June 22, 1941, German troops and its allies began the invasion of Soviet territory, the unity of the Finnish Navy and Kriegsmarine rested many minefields, which caused heavy losses to the Soviet Baltic Fleet. Germany was able to control the Baltic without having to use large resources. Over the last months of war the Kriegsmarine was able to evacuate from areas threatened by the offensive over Russian 2.5 million civilian and military ports in West Germany.
The iconographic part consists of more than sixty beautiful photographs of the main vessels that took part in this conflict, and maps.
